Rwanda gorilla trekking safari will take you to the Montane forest. The montane forests cover some of the western parts of Burundi and Rwanda. they are also found on the eastern part of the DRC. the climatic region of this mountain makes it a conducive environment for the gorillas and they are only found in this areas, namely Congo, Burundi and Uganda. Rwanda gorilla trekking safari will be confined to only Rwanda and the DRC The golden monkeys are endemic species of the Virunga massif. They are found in Volcanoes National Park, Mgahinga national park, Gishwati forest and Virunga National Park in Congo. Golden monkeys live in families. The number of members per group varies between 100 to 125 individuals. This includes one dominant male, females, juveniles and babies. The dominant males and adult females are responsible to protect the territory and resources found in, mostly females defend the food. Day 1: Arrive at Kigali International Airport
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by Amahoro driver/guide and be transferred to your hotel in Kigali arriving for overnight on bed and breakfast.

Day 2: Depart For Nyungwe National Park + Canopy walk
After breakfast a guide from Amahoro tours will be waiting to pick you up and you will depart for Nyungwe National park which takes about 6 ½ hrs drive via Butare visiting enroute, the famous National Museum at Butare and the ancient King´s Palace at Nyanza. The museum was donated in 1989 by the Belgium government with some ethnic collection, the design and concept all realized in co-operation with the Royal Museum for Central Africa of Tervuren; Belgium. Ethnographic objects are grouped together according to the theme giving premium information on the daily life. Traditional ceramics and basketry are still manufactured and belong to the finest handicrafts of the region. The National Museum remained surprisingly untouched during the civil war in 1994.arrive at Nyungwe forest in time for Lunch. Later depart for the canopy walk which sets 50 meters above the ground with a 150-meter walkway and is the first of its kind in East Africa and third on the continent after South Africa and Ghana. It allows visitors to see the forest from above the trees and be at eye level with birds and monkeys that inhabit the upper stories of the forest. Return to your hotel/lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking
Take an early morning breakfast then with your packed lunch drive to this park for the starting point of your chimpanzee trek. Two species of chimpanzee occur in Africa. There is the Bonobo and the Common Chimpanzee Pan troglodytes (often shortened to Chimpanzee, and sometimes referred to as the Robust Chimpanzee). The largest remaining populations occur in central Africa (Gabon, DR Congo and Cameroon). About only 400 individuals, the population in Rwanda is an endangered one. However; it should be mentioned that it is not guaranteed to see the chimps as they are unpredictable and can move long distances in one day. Nyungwe National Park is the largest block of montane forest in East and Central Africa and it is an incredibly rich area of biodiversity. Later Return to the hotel for lunch then depart for Bukavu border, where our representative will be waiting to assist you clear with customs and cross over to Congo and drive to your hotel for overnight.

Day 4: KAHUZI BIEGA NATIONAL PARK (LOW LAND GORILLAS)
After an early breakfast, drive to Kahuzi Biega National Park for the Eastern Low land gorillas trekking; one of the last nature reserves features gorillas. You will be able to get within a few meters of these giants to observe them and see them interact with their environment. This is an extraordinary experience, unforgettable. Adult males range in height from 165-175 cm and in weight from 140–204.5 kg (310–450 lb.). Adult females are often half the size of a silverback, averaging about 140 cm (4 ft. 7 in) tall and 100 kg (220 lb.). Occasionally, a silverback of over 183 cm (6 ft.) and 225 kg (500 lb.) has been recorded in the wild. However, obese gorillas in captivity have reached a weight of 270 kg (600 lb.). Return to Panaroma hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: KAHUZI BIEGA – GOMA
After breakfast you will check out of your hotel and take a speed boat to Goma, our guide will assist you and transfer to Caritas hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – GORILLA TRACKING IN VIRUNGA NP
After an early breakfast depart for Parc National des Virunga and on to the starting point of your gorilla tracking experience. After completing our park formalities, we embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. These massive primates are extremely rare, with less than 700 living today. You will get within meters of the family, and be privileged to spend an hour amongst them. Later head back to your for lunch and afterwards dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – MOUNT NYIRAGONGO HIKE
After an early breakfast; today is real adventure where you spend a day hiking the live volcano Nyiragongo. The trek includes a walk through lush forest and lava fields with a steep incline near the top, and includes an overnight stay in the Nyiragongo Crater Cabanas on the volcano rim.The stunning views both day and night make this an unforgettable experience. Later stay for overnight in tents at the rim of the giant crater high above the active lava lake. CRATER BANDAS Ready Food and Water are included in the rates. Things to bring for Nyiragongo Hiking: Sleeping Bag, Change of dry clothes, Rain gear, Good walking shoes, Warm Clothes (sweater, jacket) it is cold up the rim. Sun cream, warm Hat, Torch, Camera and any other personal toiletries

Day 8 – MOUNT NYIRAGONGO DESCEND
After breakfast descend by 0700 hrs arriving at the trail head before lunch. Continue back to Goma City for lunch(own account). Thereafter be transferred back to Rwanda, drive to Gisenyi and be dropped at your hotel for overnight.

Day 9 – GISENYI – KIGALI
After breakfast you will spend some time in Gisenyi before departing for Kigali with a stop at the Imbabazi Orphanage- Rosamond Halsey Carr (1912-2006) founded the Imbabazi Orphanage in 1994. Since that time Roz and her staff have cared for more than 400 children but however the children‟s home was closed down by the government owing to the fact that this does not match the Rwandan beliefs- However all the children are now adults and have guardians following upon them. Roz wrote the book “Land of a Thousand Hills: My Life in Rwanda,” with her niece, Ann Howard Halsey, chronicling her love affair with one of the world’s most beautiful and tormented regions. She is also the 2004 recipient of the Volvo for Life Award and a movie chronicling her life is currently in production. Take a walk around the homestead and also get see lots of flowers that were planted by her as she really loved flowers. Have a cup of tea/coffee as you watch the local dancers and enjoy the traditional way of local entertainment. This is Rwandan traditional dancing, and guests will enjoy the performance and later be given an opportunity to join in the dance. Continue to Kigali, and check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10 – CITY TOUR – AIRPORT
After breakfast you will bid your host goodbye and depart for Kigali. Take a complementary city tour to visit interesting spots which may include; the craft market, Gisozi genocide memorial site & Kigali museum. Also engage in last-minute shopping in one of the friendliest African capitals, before returning to the airport for your onward international flight back home.
